Former US Vice President, Joe Biden and President Donald Trump have both issued a statement as results are pouring in while the US Presidential Election is about to be wrapped up.
In a live broadcast by Biden on Wednesday, he said he was optimistic about winning the election.
“Good evening, your patience is commendable; we knew it would gonna go long.
“But look, we feel good about where we are and I am here to tell you tonight that we believe we are on track to win this election,” he said.
On his own part, President Trump via Twitter alleged a scheme to commit electoral fraud against his re-election.
“We are up big, but they are trying to steal the election. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the polls are closed,” he stated.
Meanwhile, according to Associated Press, Biden has secured 223 Electoral college votes while Trump has 212, as of the time of this report.
Irrespective of the popular votes, one of the candidates would have to get 270 electoral college votes to be declared the winner.
