The Criminal suit filed by a self-acclaimed human rights activist, Kenechukwu Okeke received a boost as a Magistrate’s Court in Abuja has ordered the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bala Ciroma to investigate 50 persons who allegedly promoted the #EndSARS protests.
The directive which was contained in a letter to Bala Ciroma by the Magistrate, Omolola Akindele, came days after the human rights activist, Kenechukwu Okeke had filed the suit against some #EndSARS promoters.
In his complaints, Okeke accused the (#EndSARS promoters) defendants of fuelling mayhem that caused the destruction of his property. He said they acted in a manner “with intent to assist in the promotion of an unlawful assembly under the guise or composition of #EndSARS.”
As a result of this, the police commissioner was given 2 weeks to investigate the matter and give a report for ‘proper adjudication’ in a letter to it by the magistrate.
The letter reads in part, “I am directed by the Presiding Chief Magistrate II, his worship, Hon.
