As Nigeria unites with the world to commemorate this year’s International Peace Day, the Patriarch of Everlasting Christ Gospel Mission Int’l and Commandant-General of Chaplain Hospitallar And Human Initiative, Archbishop Dr. Sir Friday Ibanga has urged citizens to join hands together in taking responsibility of embracing peace always regarding the current security and peace situation in the country.
The C-G made the call on the occasion of celebrating the 2021 International Day of Peace organized by Crown Patriots Chaplaincy, with the theme: “Recovering Better for an Equitable and Sustainable World,” held at the Parade Ground of Chaplain Hospitallar And Human Initiative, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
With the aim of ensuring National cohesion, the C-G said the Institute came up with the slogan “Let us Take Responsibility,” to achieve cooperate culpability.
He described recovering as an activity that involves all classes of endeavours including Health, Media, Government, Entertainment, Education, Religion and Politics, to create more awareness that is competent of restoring what was obviously not normal, noting that the word better means improvement out of existing goodness; or a transformation in activities higher than what was acceptable.
The Patriarch maintained that equitable right has formal friendship with conscience beyond legal right, fairness and impartial system of administration that does not inflict with human right. He sued for references on issues that have to do with decision on valid equity in order to maintain peace and security in our Nation.
On sustainability: the Patriarch stressed the need of creating Awareness on the culture of maintaining a relationship in a pattern that will not cause disintegration; rather, all hands must be on deck for the defense of our National value for the sake of peaceful value to human existence. “what can we uphold or defend through good practice for our economic growth and human right development? He said the concept is to expatriate the conceptual reasons but for world peace day 2021 – Recovering Batter for An Equitable and sustainable world. Noting that politics is a mountain of influences that can become a platform of crisis or lack of peace in the world; and failure to recognise the principles of recovering can create chaos against peaceful and sustainable development in the Nation.
Making reference to the theme of the 2021 United Nations day of peace, Archbishop Ibanga made it known that there can be no Sustainable future without a sustainable peace; hence, peaceful coexistence in perfect harmony and freedom in a consciousness of valuable given to one another must be our watchword.
Archbishop Ibanga regretted that many causes of conflict are directly related to valuable natural resources such as crude oil, diamond, gold, timber, water, etc. He said in order to engage in a valuable recovering and a justifiable equity policies, the law of equity must be defensibly and justifiably interpreted to suit the conditions of the poor people, the widows, the downtrodden, the widower and people in the rural societies in the Nation.
In his revelation, he said ” any challenge in life that started with prophetic utterances must be solved or ended by the power of prophetic utterances”.
“Today, there are many initiatives and NGOs initiatiated to bring peace to the world, but more laws, more problems.
The world system has failed us because the space we are looking for is beyond secular and man made initiative like the UN, AU, ECOWAS, World Council of Churches, CAN, PFN, etc
Begin to know this truth that peace is a being, and the being, peace was called out of earth by prophetic order. Divine constitution, Rev. 6:2-4
We cannot look for peace by the doctrines of man because it is a being, meaning, it is beyond religion. We must look for peace in spirit, for it was a spirit that called the being, peace out of the earth.
This is the purpose of chaplains coming together to enlighten the world system and the world leaders as well as religious leaders that there are groups of beings known as chaplains”.
“The nation and indeed the military are doing their best in tackling the conflicts and challenges of COVID-19. I hereby use this opportunity to congratulate you all and wish you well. But remember, we have not reached Uhuru.
“This is why IPCR came up with the slogan: “let us take responsibility”. Wherever you are, take an action to stop these violent conflicts, take responsibility in your family, take responsibility in your community take responsibility as a civil society organization.
“Take responsibility as a government official take responsibility as a private sector champion. If we don’t act and take responsibility, remember that if there is no peace, there cannot be any development and business activities.”
Speaking in the same vein Archbishop Prof. Paul Hanson Ebong defined peace building as a continuous process that involves the efforts of government, military, paramilitary agencies working in line with established desire to ensure good governance, human security reconciliation, reconstruction and the rule of law.
Explaining further, he said “Forces that form essential roles in the general process of peace building with each agency focusing on responsibilities secluded to their national mandates. This ensures a simultaneous and professional approach towards improving existing peace.
“To this end, the contribution of our security forces towards peace building in any environment includes the physical security of lives and property as well as other statutory roles. The Nigerian Army in particular will continue in making efforts to make peace in all areas affected by insecurity.
“Take responsibility as a government official take responsibility as a private sector champion. If we don’t act and take responsibility, remember that if there is no peace, there cannot be any development and business activities.”

Speaking also the international corps commander General of Crown Patriot Chaplaincy Mr. John Rich Ubah on behalf of the board of Trustees and corps members of the organisation said the summit came from an initiative of CPAC to commemorate the international day of peace.
He noted that the annual peace day is observed around the world on to the declaration of the united Nations to commemorate peace within and among all Nations and people.
