At the distribution of the moped-up eggs on Monday in Jos, Governor Simon Lalong stated that the moped-up was the state government’s initial response to the problem of egg excess in the state.
The governor, who Prof. Danladi Autu represented, the Secretary to the State Government, declared that the state government would continue the intervention by supplying eggs for the school food program.
He claimed that because chicken producers had increased the state’s internal revenue and provided jobs for young people, the administration would do everything it took to protect the poultry industry in the state.
Dr. Hosea Finangwai, the Plateau Commissioner for Agriculture, also spoke and stated that the state’s schools, hospitals, prisons, and orphanages would be the first to benefit from the mop-up.
PAN Chairman Johnson Bagudu praised the government for making an effort to ease the plight of farmers in the state and added that it would assist many farmers who had left the industry to return.
He urged the incoming administration to support the gesture.
One of the recipients, Kyenpiya Nyabam, Chairperson of the Plateau branch of the Association of Orphanages and Home Operators in Nigeria, praised the government for the gesture and stated that it will help 2,000 orphaned children in the state.
