Mercy Chinwo, a well-known gospel vocalist, has criticized a 2 billion naira lawsuit against Afrobeats musician Obidiz for using her name in his song.
The gifted gospel singer-songwriter filed a lawsuit against him for disparagingly using her name and image in his tune.
According to a lawsuit Mercy Chinwo’s attorneys filed on March 23, 2023, the secular singer Obidiz received a cease and desist letter asking him not to use her name or picture in any of his promotional materials or music.
The singer also asked that any images, promotional materials, and music featuring her name and picture be removed.
It was told that he would be dragged to court and made to pay 2 billion nairas in damages. if he disobeyed the demands made of him.
