Customers of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company AEDC have been urged to ignore rumors that the company would be raising electricity rates by July 1.
The corporation had published a statement on Sunday, June 25, outlining its intentions to raise the tariff by July 1. The company claimed that the increase was brought on by the Naira’s fluctuation in the exchange rate.
However, the AEDC claimed today in a message posted to its Twitter account that no approval for a pricing rise had been given.
