In other to fulfilled his campaign pledges and resolve to change the economic outlook of his constituents, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem has commissioned the 4-kilometre Ikot Akpan Essien – Ikot Obong – Ikot Ukpong Eren road in Oruk Anam local government area, which he facilitated.
The road project, which will greatly boost agriculture in the area, is constructed with a bridge linking Ikot Ukpong Eren with Ikot Obong.
The project is an Easter gift from me to the people of Oruk Anam. This is in recognition of the fact that no development thrives without good road network, as such, with the inauguration of this road, the economic activities of these communities will be enhanced greatly.
I also used the opportunity to appeal to my constituents to be patient, hinting that more plans are underway for them.
I reminded that that what I’ve done in the past 5 years is quite little, compared with what I will do in the next three years, as more projects are coming. The street lights will be installed to light up the roads at night.
Also during the commissioning, I appealed to the youths to be peaceful, while restating my plan to facilitate more employments to my constituents, with the hope that “in the next 10 years I hope to see my constituents in federal government MDAs rise to managerial positions.”
Goodwill messages were received from the member representing Oruk Anam State Constituency and Deputy Chief Whip, Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, Hon. Sampson Idiong, his predecessor and former leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Udo Kieran Akpan, Political leader, Ikot Akpan Essien, Dr. Paul Udofia, and Youth representative, Hon. Sunday Festus.
Messages were also received from the Paramount ruler, Oruk Anam local government area, Obong Engr. Johnson Obosi, Oruk Anam PDP chapter chairman, Engr. Nsikan Titus, Ime Peter Akpan from Ikot Ukpong Eren, Mrs Ediana Sunday, Women Leader and Engr. Chibuike Godwin of the Federal Ministry Of Works.
They unanimously applauded me for facilitating the road project, noting that it will boost the economic livelihood of people of the communities.
They also commended my quality of representation, agreeing that with my sterling performance, I deserve bigger responsibilities in future.
