The Niger State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a four-member group for gang-r*ping a 13-year-old JSS 1 student in Pandogari town, Rafi Local Government Area.
The state commandant, Joachim Okafor, revealed this in Minna on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, while parading the suspects. According to Okafor, the gang is also accused of mutilating the g€nitals of a three-year-old boy.
The suspects admitted to being instructed by a witch doctor named Baba Sada to obtain male g€nitals as a charm to protect them from gunshot or knife attacks.
Okafor, who was represented by the Second-in-Command Abdulhamid Kabara, explained that the suspects were caught after the 13-year-old victim, Fatima Usman, managed to escape from an unfinished building where they had taken her on the outskirts of Pandogari
“Fatima Usman, a 13-year-old JSS 1 student of Government Day Secondary School Pandogari, encountered a group of notorious boys specializing in assaulting, mutilating, and harming schoolchildren,” Kabara stated.
He added that Fatima reported the incident to the school principal, Mohammed Aketa, after being threatened by one of the gang members.
The principal alerted security forces, leading to the successful arrest of the suspect who had threatened Fatima’s life, subsequently identifying himself as Aliyu Amiru, 20 years old, and disclosing information about other syndicate members during the investigation.
