Newsie Events:–
On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu announced the establishment of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development during the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Livestock Reform Implementation Committee held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
However, the President did not disclose the name of the Minister for the new ministry, as he is expected to submit the nominee’s name to the Senate for screening and confirmation.
In attendance at the inauguration were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and other cabinet members.
Previously, on September 15, 2023, President Tinubu approved the creation of a Presidential Committee dedicated to reforming the livestock industry and addressing the recurring clashes between herders and farmers.
This committee was formed following a report from the National Conference on Livestock Reforms and Mitigation of Associated Conflicts in Nigeria.
