The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has responded to reports claiming that the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Inspector General of Police regarding the Central Motor Information System (CMRIS) certificate issuance.
Adejobi stated that no agency has the authority to challenge the police on the CMRIS initiative.
He emphasized that the police have been issuing CMR certificates for decades, asserting their right to initiate strategies to combat crime in Nigeria. Adejobi dismissed the NBA’s concerns as unfounded and fake news, challenging those behind the statement to provide evidence.
