President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has responded to the endorsement of the August 1 nationwide rally by the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Onanuga urged Obi to follow the example of Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari by openly leading the protest.
He challenged Obi to be at the forefront, ensuring any potential excesses are curbed.
Onanuga posted on X: “Now that Peter Obi has endorsed the planned protest by his supporters, he should emulate President Tinubu and former President Buhari by openly leading the protesters.
That is what leadership is about. He should be at the forefront of the protest and help curb any potential excesses.”
Omoyele Sowore, a well-known activist, had called for the nationwide protest on August 1 against Tinubu’s administration, highlighting the hunger and suffering Nigerians are currently facing.
