The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Rivers State, Mr. George Mfongang, has expressed concern about the rising trend of young Nigerian graduates migrating abroad illegally in search of better opportunities.
Mfongang emphasized Nigeria’s potential and urged citizens to contribute positively to the nation’s development.
During a recent meeting with Mrs. Nwamaka Ikediashi, the Rivers State Commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Mfongang supported the idea of raising awareness among corps members about the dangers of illegal migration. He advised Ikediashi to submit her request for sensitization to the NYSC Headquarters through NAPTIP Headquarters for a nationwide approach.
Ikediashi highlighted NAPTIP’s commitment to educating corps members about the risks associated with illegal migration and warned against deceptive agencies that exploit young graduates, leading them into dangerous and exploitative situations abroad.
