The death toll from the recent flood disaster in Bauchi State has risen to 18, with 11 additional deaths confirmed.
The floods, which struck Gadiya village in Gamawa Local Government Area, have caused significant destruction, including the loss of over 200 homes and 300 farmlands. Many villagers are now homeless and struggling with shortages of food and shelter.
The village head has called for urgent assistance from the government and philanthropists. The Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has begun distributing relief materials and is conducting assessments in the affected areas.
