Afenifere, a prominent Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organization, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, arguing that Nigerians are worse off now than they were at the start of his tenure. In a recent communiqué, Afenifere expressed concerns about widespread hardship, hunger, insecurity, and unemployment, attributing these issues to the government’s poor management of public funds.
The organization highlighted several expenditures they consider excessive, including $100 million for a presidential jet, nearly $1 billion for new luxury vehicles, and substantial amounts for renovations and religious subsidies. They also condemned the government’s treatment of media professionals, calling for respect for press freedom as guaranteed by the Constitution.
