Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria voiced concerns about Federal Government’s proposed new regulations for healthcare facilities.

The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) has voiced concerns about the Federal Government’s proposed new regulations for healthcare facilities. ACPN argues that the new reforms are unnecessary and could hinder progress.

They believe that the existing National Health Act of 2014, if properly implemented, could address issues related to unregulated and substandard healthcare facilities.

The ACPN emphasizes that existing health statutes are underutilized due to inadequate funding of regulatory agencies. They cite a recent incident where the removal of funding for professional regulatory councils nearly destabilized the sector.

The ACPN criticizes the government’s plan to create a new National Health Regulatory facility, suggesting it is wasteful given the current funding constraints and inefficiencies.

They recommend focusing on effectively utilizing existing regulations and improving funding for current regulatory bodies.
