Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), announced the discontinuation of special promotions within the Nigeria Police Force.
This change was revealed during a meeting with the Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria.
Argungu emphasized that future promotions will be based on merit, including examinations and interviews. He stated that there is no place for special promotions globally and that accelerated promotions for exceptional performance will be managed carefully to prevent abuse. Officers failing promotion exams three times will be retired for incompetence.
Argungu expressed his commitment to upholding the integrity of the Police Force and PSC.
