NNPC respond to Muslim right concern regarding Dangote refinery.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has responded to claims by the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) regarding the Dangote Refinery.

MURIC had suggested that recent changes to the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) would hinder the refinery’s ability to offer competitive prices.

NNPC Ltd denied these claims, asserting that the pricing of petroleum products is driven by global market forces and that domestic refineries, including the Dangote Refinery, are free to sell directly to marketers. NNPC Ltd emphasized that it cannot undermine a business in which it has significant financial interests and that there is no restriction on the refinery’s market activities.
