The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the murder of Mr. Stephen Aniago, the chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders Association, who was killed by gunmen on Saturday night in the Topland area of Enugu State. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the assailants, operating in a Toyota Corolla, ambushed Aniago, shot him, and stole his vehicle.
The Enugu State Police Commissioner, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has directed tactical units to use all available resources to track down the perpetrators. The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID has been instructed to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. CP Uzuegbu has assured the public of the police’s commitment to capturing those responsible for the crime.
