…. Says palliative not the solution.
Former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar has urged the Nigerian government to implement lasting solutions to the economic hardships facing citizens, rather than relying on temporary palliatives.
Speaking in Minna, he highlighted the struggles of Nigerians to afford basic necessities due to rising fuel prices, school fees, and transportation costs.
Abdulsalami criticized the government’s approach, emphasizing that simply providing financial assistance is insufficient. He suggested that the government should directly address food accessibility by purchasing and selling food at lower prices to alleviate the burden on families.
He also encouraged peaceful protests planned for October 1, advocating for constructive dialogue and government action to ease economic struggles.
