IPOB urge FG to cease its allege ethnic persecution of Nnamdi Kanu.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has urged the Nigerian government to cease its alleged ethnic persecution of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu. In a statement, IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful highlighted that Kanu’s ongoing trial is politically motivated and illegal, citing a subsisting Appeal Court judgment that discharged him.

IPOB accused the Nigerian government of violating international laws through Kanu’s rendition from Kenya and condemned what they describe as a “kangaroo persecution.” They claim that despite multiple court rulings in Kanu’s favor, the government continues to detain him unlawfully, exacerbating concerns about his health in solitary confinement. The group insists that Kanu has committed no crimes and that their struggle for Biafran self-determination aligns with international legal standards.
