FG file fresh charges against Yaya Bello alleged fraud totaling N110.4 billion.

The Nigerian government, through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has filed new charges against former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, along with co-defendants Umar Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalam Hudu. This comes as part of a 16-count indictment related to an alleged fraud totaling N110.4 billion.

The EFCC’s charge sheet indicates that the defendants are accused of colluding in 2016 to commit criminal breach of trust concerning the significant sum of money. This development follows Bello’s previous absence from a Federal High Court, where he faced earlier allegations of fraud amounting to N80.2 billion.
