In Rivers State, citizens have expressed their frustration by protesting at the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) office, demanding that the local government elections scheduled for October 5 proceed as planned.
Despite heavy rainfall, demonstrators gathered, blocking part of the road and voicing their demands through singing and drumming.
The situation intensified when Governor Siminalayi Fubara visited the RSIEC in the early hours of Friday, reportedly to prevent the police from taking control of the premises.
