The Appeal Court has upheld the Federal High Court judgment, confirming Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule’s position as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The court invalidated the appointment of Edison Ehie as Speaker, nullifying all actions taken by him, including the budget presentation by Governor Sir Sim Fubara. Consequently, Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, who was positioned through Ehie’s actions, is deemed legally nonexistent.
The appellants were also ordered to pay costs of five hundred thousand naira, with the court deeming the case without merit.
