Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to maintain neutrality in the upcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election. Speaking at the flag-off of the PDP campaign for candidate Agboola Ajayi, Makinde emphasized the need for a fair electoral process and called for the removal of the Ondo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, due to her local ties.

Makinde expressed concern over potential biases in the electoral process, referencing issues from the recent Edo State election. He appealed to INEC Chairman, Prof. Yakubu Mahmood, to ensure a level playing field, stating that the PDP is ready for a fair contest and will protest until their demands are met. The election is scheduled for November 16, 2024.
