The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has issued a warning to private security companies operating without registration in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stating that they risk prosecution. Dr. Olusola Odumosun, the Commandant of NSCDC FCT Command, emphasized the importance of proper registration during a refresher training course for private security operatives in Abuja.

He highlighted the proliferation of unregistered security firms and reaffirmed that the NSCDC is the sole agency authorized to register private guards. Odumosun urged the participants to utilize the training to enhance their effectiveness and contribute to a safer society. Tijani Usman, head of the private guards unit, commended the Commandant for addressing security challenges in the FCT.
