The Kogi State Government has announced a restriction on vehicular movement from 7 AM to 4 PM on October 19, 2023, in preparation for the local government elections. Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, stated that this measure aims to ensure a secure and smooth electoral process across all 21 local government areas.
The government has instructed security agencies to enforce this order and emphasized the importance of citizens participating in the elections. Fanwo expressed confidence in the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission’s ability to conduct a fair and credible poll and encouraged voters to exercise their rights peacefully.
