Desist from pushing your members to seed sowing for your personal financial gains – Pst. Kumuyi warn pastors.

By Divine Sam.

Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, recently called on Nigerian pastors to stop exploiting their members through the practice of seed sowing for financial gain. Speaking at a meeting on October 18, he emphasized that pastors should focus on helping those in need, particularly vulnerable individuals like widows, rather than pressuring them to give.

Kumuyi expressed concern over how some church leaders are becoming wealthier at the expense of their congregants. He criticized the misleading promises often associated with seed sowing, questioning the well-being of those who give their last resources under such pressures. He urged pastors to emulate biblical figures like Elijah, who uplifted the poor rather than taking from them. Kumuyi concluded by advocating for a more compassionate approach within the church, highlighting the need for leaders to support those struggling instead of exploiting them.
