Senate President Godswill Akpabio, speaking at the University of Calabar during the UNICAL ’87 Law Class Re-Union, acknowledged the current challenges faced by Nigeria but expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s ability to secure a brighter future. He attributed the nation’s difficulties to years of past maladministration and emphasized the importance of developing robust infrastructure.
Akpabio stated that the present administration is focused on creating lasting legacies for posterity, asserting that hope exists under Tinubu’s leadership. He led his former classmates in courtesy visits to Governor Prince Bassey Otu and Vice Chancellor Professor Florence Obi, discussing the urgent infrastructural needs of UNICAL.
During the reunion, Akpabio announced a donation of two Coaster buses to the Faculty of Law and the Student Union Government. Governor Otu pledged state support for any initiatives aimed at enhancing the institution, while Justice Okon Abang reflected on the significant contributions of the ’87 Law Class to the legal profession and national progress.
