Coalition of southeast youth leaders send message to FG, says Sit-at-home disrupting southeast economy.

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has voiced serious concerns about the ongoing sit-at-home orders that are disrupting the economy in the Southeast region. They highlighted that these orders, often attributed to faceless individuals, have led to significant economic challenges.

In a statement from President General Goodluck Ibem, COSEYL condemned the situation, urging an end to what they described as “madness.” They noted that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile have distanced themselves from the latest orders, which seem to stem from unknown sources.

The coalition is appealing to President Bola Tinubu to consider releasing IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, arguing that this could help alleviate the economic hardship and chaos inflicted by these sit-at-home directives. They believe that Kanu’s release could be a step towards stabilizing the region and fostering growth.
