The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has reported the successful arrest of 113 foreign nationals involved in cybercrime activities. The arrests, which occurred on November 3, 2024, in Jahi, Abuja, followed an operation by the NPF Zone 7 Command and the National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC). The suspects were implicated in internet fraud, marketing scams, and other sophisticated cybercrime operations.
During the operation, authorities recovered a range of items, including a Toyota Tundra vehicle, multiple laptops, smartphones, high-capacity servers, drones, identity cards, and communication devices. The suspects were arraigned in the Federal High Court in Abuja on charges related to computer-related fraud, unlawful access to data, money laundering, conspiracy, and illegal immigration.
The investigation revealed the suspects’ involvement in not only cybercrime but also immigration offenses and human trafficking networks. The NPF has vowed to continue collaborating with international law enforcement and embassies to combat transnational crime and ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable.
