The Nigeria’s military personnel are sure to be in an ecstatic mood as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved for their salary increase.
Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle made this known on Friday in a statement via the Military’s spokesperson, Henshaw Ogubike
In addition to the salary raise, the government has approved the payment of three months’ worth of salary arrears.
Funds have also been released to settle outstanding pensions and entitlements owed to retired military personnel.
Matawalle confirmed that military personnel have already begun receiving alerts for the salary increment, which he noted will provide a significant morale boost.
He praised President Tinubu’s dedication to both active and retired military members, reiterating that clearing pension arrears for retirees is a key priority.
He also reassured the public that, despite previous delays, President Tinubu is fully committed to supporting the military in its efforts to address security challenges.
