Senator Godswill Akpabio offered insights into why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu nominated Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State, to the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Speaking at a book launch in Port Harcourt, Akpabio highlighted Wike’s extensive experience in public service, emphasizing his contributions as a local government chairman, Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government, two-term governor, and now as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Akpabio praised Wike’s work ethic and commitment to his duties, particularly noting his transformative work in Abuja, which he described as a model city under Wike’s leadership. Akpabio also lauded Wike’s leadership qualities, integrity, and dedication to public service, stating that these qualities made him deserving of the FEC appointment despite being an opposition politician.
He further acknowledged Wike’s personal strength and the support of his family, particularly his wife, in his journey. Akpabio concluded with heartfelt birthday wishes for Wike, praying for more success and impact in his service to the nation.
