Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, cutting the ex-depot price from N970 per litre to N899.50 per litre. The company made this announcement through a statement from its spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, on its official X account. This price reduction is intended to alleviate transport costs during the festive season.
In addition to the price cut, Dangote Refinery is offering a special holiday discount on PMS. Consumers can purchase petrol at the new price of N899.50 per litre at the company’s truck loading gantry or Single Point Mooring (SPM). The company is also introducing an incentive where, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will be able to buy an additional litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
This latest price reduction follows a previous cut in November, when Dangote Refinery reduced its petrol price to N970 per litre. Additionally, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and other oil marketers have also lowered petrol prices at their retail outlets in recent days.
