The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,800 officials across Ondo State in preparation for the Yuletide celebration. This initiative aims to ensure the safety of residents and their property during the festive season. The NSCDC’s State Commandant, Oluyemi Ibiloye, outlined the operational plan, which includes the strategic positioning of officers at high-risk areas, flashpoints, and vital locations such as religious centers, recreational spots, shopping malls, motor parks, and government facilities.

Personnel from specialized units, including the Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Squad, Special Female Squad, Mining and Agro Rangers, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Unit, have been mobilized for the task. They will collaborate with the Intelligence and Investigation Department and the Quick Response Squad to maintain security.

Ibiloye emphasized the need for professionalism from officers and cooperation with other security agencies. He also urged the public to celebrate responsibly, stressing that anyone caught disrupting peace during the holiday would face legal consequences. The public was further encouraged to report any suspicious activity to ensure timely action by the authorities.
