Sowore raises alarm over DSP gratuity compare to earnings of Nat’l assembly members.

Omoyele Sowore has voiced his outrage over the reported payment of N1.7 million as gratuity to a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Esther Marcus, who served for 35 years in the Nigerian Police Force.

According to Marcus, after retiring in 2018, she received the N1.7 million gratuity and is now on a monthly pension of just N40,000. Sowore criticized this as a harsh and unjust treatment of Nigerian workers, highlighting the stark contrast with the lavish earnings of Nigerian senators, who reportedly take home N29 million monthly.

He expressed sorrow over the situation, stating that it is a sad reality where hardworking individuals in vital services like the police are grossly underpaid, while corrupt politicians enjoy enormous benefits.
