Nigeria has experienced another collapse of its national grid, plunging large parts of the country into darkness.
The incident, which occurred at 1:56 pm on Saturday, marks the first collapse of the year. This follows a troubling trend of grid instability, with 12 collapses recorded in 2024 alone.
While the specific cause of the collapse has not been disclosed, reports indicate that parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, are still receiving power.
The Nigerian government has yet to provide further details on the cause or resolution of the failure.
