In Anambra State’s 2025 governorship race, supporters of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, formerly representing Anambra South, have shifted their allegiance to Paul Chukwuma, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The supporters, organized under the Ikemba Front, a political pressure group, made the decision after Ubah’s tragic death. They identified Chukwuma as someone who aligns with Ubah’s ideals and leadership vision.
During an endorsement rally held at Chukwuma’s residence in Umueri, Anambra East, 21 local government coordinators of the Ikemba Front expressed their full backing for Chukwuma. The aspirant, visibly grateful, acknowledged the significance of their support, emphasizing that their endorsement would bolster his campaign.
Chukwuma highlighted security as his top priority, lamenting the increasing kidnappings in Anambra, including those targeting religious leaders, and criticized the state’s current leadership for lacking effective solutions. He expressed confidence that with the backing of groups like Ikemba Front, both his primary and the general election are within reach.
