Alleged Marginalization: Sen. Nwoko conclude preparation to decamp from PDP to APC.

By Divine Sam

The potential defection of Senator Ned Nwoko from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is being attributed to frustrations he has faced within the PDP, particularly over alleged marginalization of Delta North by both the party and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. Nwoko’s Director of Communications, Gloria Okolugbo, revealed that he had already informed his supporters and constituents about his intentions to leave the PDP.

Nwoko is reportedly dissatisfied with the lack of support for his development projects, such as the Okpai Independent Power Project and the Ogwashi-Uku Dam, both of which he believes would benefit Delta North communities. Okolugbo also criticized the PDP for internal democratic issues, claiming that the party’s failure to address these concerns has led to Nwoko’s decision to switch allegiance. Should Nwoko follow through with his defection, it would mean the APC controls all three Senate seats in Delta State, a significant shift in the political landscape.
