The Edo State Government has suspended two prominent officials: Samson Osagie, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, and Damian Lawani, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission.
This suspension is based on allegations of serious official and financial misconduct. The suspension, which is effective immediately, comes as the government sets up an Investigative Committee to look into the claims.
This action was taken just under three months after the officials were appointed.
