The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a faction of Boko Haram aligned with ISIS, has released a video showing the execution of three Nigerian soldiers.
According to footage reviewed by SaharaReporters, the soldiers were shot dead by insurgents on March 15, 2025, in Yobe State.
Reports indicate they were captured in the Kamuya and Azare areas before being forced to kneel in a field and identify themselves as members of the Nigerian security forces. Moments later, masked militants in fatigues executed them.

Since the death of Boko Haram’s former leader Abubakar Shekau, ISWAP has strengthened its control around the Lake Chad region, absorbing hundreds of former Boko Haram fighters.
Despite the Nigerian Army’s repeated claims that insurgents have been largely defeated, ISWAP and other extremist groups continue to launch deadly attacks.
Over the years, Boko Haram and ISWAP have been responsible for more than 100,000 deaths and the displacement of millions, particularly in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states.
