Ellen DeGeneres, the American comedian, television host, actress, writer, and producer who has starred in the sitcom Ellen from 1994 to 1998 and has hosted her syndicated TV talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, since 2003, is presently embroiled in some abuse scandal in her show set.
So, If you’re wondering how she is coping with the reports of bullying, racism, and sexual harassment from producers on her show, apparently the answer is: not great. Us Weekly reports that Ellen feels betrayed by staff coming forward about their experiences, and is considering stepping down from her long-running talk show.
The magazine’s source says that Ellen “wants out of the show,” feels like a “target” because of her success, and is “pissed that people have come forward to share these negative stories about her and feels betrayed.”
On top of that, the source says that while Ellen knows “she can be tough at times,” she “believes she works hard and is extremely creative and that it’s a privilege to work for her and be around her.”
This report comes several days after Ellen wrote a letter to staff confirming that she and Warner Bros. launched an internal investigation into claims about her show, saying that she was “disappointed” to learn about the alleged toxic work environment on set. She also seemed to place some of the blame on her producers, saying:
“I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Clearly some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.”
Ellen herself has not commented on speculation that she might depart her show, but there are reports that James Corden could be in line to replace her. Source: Cosmopolitan
