The Nigerian government is seeking the extradition of Simon Ekpa, who claims to be the Prime Minister of Biafra, from Finland through the European Union.
This action comes in response to Ekpa’s declaration of December 2, 2024, as the date for presenting a map and officially declaring the Biafra Republic.
Major General Edward Buba of the Defence Headquarters indicated that the Nigerian government is coordinating with the EU to address the situation, while the military will continue its operations against IPOB (Indigenous People of Biafra) and ESN (Eastern Security Network).
