The Centre for Accountability and Transparency (CAAT) has called on the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate allegations that Matrix Oil imported adulterated petroleum products from Malta into Nigeria.
Matrix Oil has denied these claims, labeling them as false and malicious. CAAT’s convener, Okwa Dan, emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation due to the potential harm the alleged dirty fuel could cause to Nigerians.
He urged the EFCC to arrest and prosecute those involved and asked the FCCPC to examine the impact on consumers, including economic losses from damaged vehicles and generators.
