The Chartered Institute of Taxation Nigeria (CITN), Ibadan District, officially installed Mr. Kazeem Kolawole Tejumola, FCTI, as the 12th Chairman of the District on November 7, 2024, at Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan. The ceremony was presided over by Barr. Samuel Olushola Agbeluyi, the 16th National President of the Institute.
In his valedictory speech, the immediate past Chairman, Pastor Julius Olaniyan, expressed his satisfaction with the successful conclusion of his administration. He thanked the members for their moral and financial support during his tenure and called on them to extend the same to the new leadership under Mr. Tejumola. Pastor Olaniyan also urged members who had neglected their annual subscriptions to reconsider, emphasizing that fulfilling their obligations would empower the district to perform its functions more effectively.
He further encouraged the new administration to work diligently to establish more branches in other major cities within Oyo State, noting that Ibadan and the surrounding districts are ripe for expansion.
Mr. Oyesina Dahud Oyebamiji, Chairman of the Investiture Committee, welcomed the dignitaries and attendees, stressing the importance of leadership that embraces excellence, innovation, and ethical practice. He acknowledged the rapid global changes in the field of taxation and urged members to continuously improve their knowledge and skills to meet future challenges.
Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, who chaired the occasion, congratulated Mr. Tejumola on his appointment and pledged continued support to the new administration. Represented by one of his personal assistants, Senator Alli encouraged the incoming leadership to focus on progress and the development of the district.
Mr. Kazeem Kolawole Tejumola, who has held several leadership positions, including President of the Better Life Islamic Cooperative Society and Chairman of Providence Estate, holds an MBA in Finance from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. He became a qualified member of the CITN in 2012 and has over a decade of experience in the taxation profession. Tejumola is committed to fostering mentorship, career progression, and exceeding goals within the district.
In his oath of office, Barr. Samuel Olushola Agbeluyi reminded the new administration to place the Institute’s interests above personal gains. He charged the executive council members to collaborate and focus on achieving the district’s goals. The National President also praised Senator Alli for his dedication to the CITN in Ibadan and at the national level.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Tejumola expressed gratitude to Allah and the members for the trust placed in him. He committed his administration to excellent service, support for members, and elevating the Institute to greater heights.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including royal fathers, financial sector leaders, and past and present leaders of the Institute. Highlights included the decoration of the new Chairman, award presentations to Barr. Agbeluyi and Senator Alli, goodwill messages, and the traditional cutting of the cake to mark the beginning of the new administration.
The ceremony marked the start of a promising new chapter for CITN, Oyo State District, under the leadership of Mr. Kazeem Kolawole Tejumola.
