Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has presented the state’s 2025 budget proposal of N1.1 trillion to a faction of the state House of Assembly. The presentation took place on Monday to the four-member faction led by Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo. This is Fubara’s second budget presentation since taking office. The 2024 budget, which was N800 billion, was presented in 2023 to another four-member faction led by Speaker Edison Ehie. This presentation came amid political upheaval in the state, including the defection of 27 Assembly members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
