The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has identified Benue, Delta, and Borno states as the most affordable places to live in Nigeria.
According to the NBS July Consumer Price Index and Inflation Data, these states experienced the slowest rise in headline inflation on a year-on-year basis, with Benue at 27.28%, Delta at 28.06%, and Borno at 28.33%.
In contrast, Abuja, Borno, and Enugu saw the highest increases in inflation on a month-on-month basis. Overall, Nigeria’s headline inflation fell to 33.90% in July, marking the first decline since 2022.
The reduction in food prices, including staples like garri and fufu, contributed to a drop in food inflation to 39.53% from 40.87% in June.
