The recent hike in petrol prices in Kano State, where the cost of fuel surged to N1,150 per liter, has led many residents to abandon their cars in favor of more affordable means of transportation.

Observations by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday showed a notable decrease in the number of cars on the road, with a marked increase in pedestrians, cyclists, electric bike users, and commercial tricycles.

This shift highlights the financial strain the fuel price increase has imposed on local residents, forcing them to find alternative, less expensive options to get around.
