Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has officially signed the 2025 budget into law, with a total of N790,439,580,083 allocated for the year. The budget, titled “Sustaining Transformation and Inclusive Development,” includes N551,582,867,194 for capital expenditure and N238,856,712,888.86 for recurrent expenditure.
The budget was passed just ten days after its presentation to the State House of Assembly. Governor Sani praised the legislature for its swift action, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the executive and legislative arms. He commended the House for its thorough review process, where all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) defended their proposals. He also noted the bipartisan focus on governance rather than politics, emphasizing that despite the political divide between APC and PDP members, the legislature has remained committed to development.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman, also praised the budget signing as an important milestone. He acknowledged the governor’s efforts to create an enabling environment for development, particularly in rural areas. Liman highlighted key areas of the budget, such as a significant increase in agricultural funding—from 7% in the current year to 9.5% in 2025—and its potential to boost the state’s GDP, where agriculture currently contributes 42%.
