Olu Agunloye’s statement highlights his contention with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, accusing him of spreading falsehoods about the Mambilla Power Project.
Agunloye claims that Obasanjo is trying to obscure his own record on the project, with Agunloye being unfairly targeted in the ongoing legal proceedings.
He suggests that personal conflicts between Obasanjo, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and businessman Leno Adesanya are central to the issues surrounding the project.
Agunloye further argues that the government is using him as a scapegoat to deflect attention from its own mishandling of the situation, including failed settlement agreements and inconsistencies in contract management.
The dispute, which involves multiple administrations, is now at an arbitration panel in France.
