Fuel scarcity has returned to Ilorin, causing long queues at petrol stations and significant price increases.
At major stations, petrol prices range from N640 to N680 per litre, while independent marketers charge between N900 and N1,000. Many stations are closed due to a lack of stock.
The scarcity is attributed to the NNPC being the sole importer of petrol, with local refineries not operational. This situation has also driven up transport fares in the area, affecting commercial cab operators and riders.
